Following the news of South Korean entertainer Goo Hara (구하라)’s tragic passing on Sunday (24th November), fans have shifted their focus to her abusive ex-boyfriend Choi Jongbum (최종범).
In this case, many believed that the hair stylist played a major part in impacting the 28-year-old’s life negatively, which lead to their ongoing case in court. As a result, K-netizens have stepped in and trended the hashtag #최종범_처벌 (#Punish_ChoiJungbum) to fight for Hara’s justice.
Top trending on Korea Twitter is #최종범_처벌 or “Punish Choi Jong-bum,” who is Goo Hara’s ex-boyfriend that she is suing for revenge porn. Trial against Choi is still ongoing.

Following the massive amount of backlash from everyone, it seems that Jongbum has changed his Instagram to private mode. His hair salon was also reported to shut down its business, plus its official account has also been kept private for the time being. Prior to this, he was slammed by K-pop fans for heavily promoting the salon on his social media.
Just when we thought it ended there, some fans came down to file for petition at the Blue House to appeal for a stricter punishment against the culprit. At the time of writing (Tuesday, 26th November), the petition has gained over 200,000 signs from the public, and the list goes on.
SK Blue House petition. It’s for setting new punishment standards for sexual assault. It mentions the mental anguish/stress Goo Hara had from her ex threatening to release sex tape. All of this must be stopped. Women need to demand better. #최종범_처벌 = punish Hara’s ex. Use HT. https://t.co/fTyPc0sei4
