The news of Utusan Melayu Sdn Bhd shutting down their publication business could be one of the most shocking one so far. As a result, many people, including local celebrities including Haiza, Didie Alias and Lisdawati to name a few, were saddened by the unfortunate news.

For those who might not know, one of their newspapers, Utusan Malaysia was known as one of the oldest newspaper. Therefore, more artists mentioned that parts of their career started thanks to exposure from the newspaper itself.

Among local celebs that shared their condolences following the news is TV host/entrepreneur Neelofa. When the news came out, she took to Twitter to address the issue. In the post, she mentioned that the people from Utusan were responsible in guiding her when she was still a newbie in the industry. She returned the favour to the staffs who just lost their job by asking her followers to drop any hiring opportunities under the reply section on her Twitter account.

Additionally, Datuk Siti Nurhaliza also shared her concern as well. In her recent Instagram post, she urged fans to lend their hands in contributing to the Tabung Kebajikan NUJ. As mentioned before, Tabung Kebajikan NUJ wishes to give a few assistance financially apart from contributing basic needs for households. It will officially launch this Friday (23rd August 2019). For those interested, you can donate your cash directly to National Union of Journalists (NUJ) Malaysia’s CIMB current account 80-0082256-0.

Devastated to hear about the current state of Utusan, diorang banyak bantu career Lofa dari awal. So, I want to return the favour. Kalau korang kenal anyone from HR or any companies looking to hire, drop the details below! https://t.co/PWnLOcn7PN
