Get ready to shop till you drop at Johor Premium Outlets shopaholics!
First launched in December 2011, the centre has become a shopping hub for Malaysians, Singaporeans, and more. Now that Southeast Asia’s first Premium Outlet Centre has completed the latest phase of its development, we’ve listed 5 reasons for shoppers to visit this place.
1. The completion of Phase 3; now features 150 stores
Last Thursday (21st March) was the grand opening of Johor Premium Outlets, in celebration of its Phase 3 completion (Phase 2 was launched back in 15 November 2013). The brand new Johor Premium Outlets now occupies 18.2ha of land featuring a gross built-up area of 379,000 sq ft, and a gross leasable area of 313,000 sq ft.
Now that Phase 3 has completed with 150 designer and brand name outlet stores, we were informed that there won’t be any further expansion.
2. Thumbs up from the Sultan

During the official opening last week, the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar was present with Genting Group CEO Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, Simon Property’s Mark Silvestri, and Johor’s Menteri Besar Dato’ Haji Osman Bin Haji Sapian.
The Sultan took the opportunity to do some window shopping as he was ushered into several outlets on the day itself. We’re not sure if any purchases were made, but from the looks of it, he seemed please with what he saw.

During the event, a special two-tier cake was also prepared for the cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum’s birthday (side note: his coronation falls on 23rd March).
3. Is it better than Genting Premium Outlets?
From the looks of it, Johor Premium Outlets is just as impressive as Genting Premium Outlets (minus the cold breeze on the hills). While Genting Premium Outlets feels more tourist focus, Johor Premium Outlets offers a pleasant experience for the whole family as there are a couple of kids-friendly stores in sight.
You can now find famous designer and brand names such as Aigner, Armani Outlet, Bally, Bath & Body Works, BlackBarrett, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, CK Calvin Klein, Coach, DKNY, Ermenegildo Zegna Outlet Store and Furla.
Others are Gucci, Hugo Boss, Jimmy Choo, Kate Spade New York, Lacoste Outlet, Lululemon, Michael Kors, Nike Factory Store, Polo Ralph Lauren, Salvatore Ferragamo Company Store, Swarovski, Swiss Watch Gallery, Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch, Tumi, Versace and Victoria’s Secret.
