Our heart goes out to Liv Lo and her family.
Earlier this week, Henry Golding’s wife took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post about her late younger brother, Sam Lo. From personal sharing, we gathered that she’s still processing his tragic death and coming to terms with his passing.
In a series of photos, Liv shared some of the best memories she had with her sibling including candid snapshots of them dancing during her wedding day and their travelling trip. She also included a sentimental framed picture of Sam sitting on a white shelve, accompanied with a candle and some fresh flowers.
Liv wrote:
“Losing you my brother has been the hardest thing I have had to endure. More than sickness or pain. There are no words to describe the love I have for you. As your elder sister I always felt it was my responsibility to travel to see you, to shop for you, to dine at your work, to make sure you were taking care of yourself.”
“To get through the shock, memorial, funeral, cremation, and mourning I investigated into the moments leading up to your tragic passing. When someone suddenly leaves your life, you need to find a reason why. Why would you leave without saying goodbye? How did this happen and why? I had so many question and emotions.
“As I investigated and met those who interacted with you daily I began to slowly understand. You were a friend to everyone, a colleague to most, a boss who used his position to help others, a boyfriend, and everybody loved you. I heard stories of how you touched peoples lives with your selflessness, your listening ear, your sense of humour, and diligent support. I grew to know you as the man I had always wanted you to be. I am so proud of you!
“The night of your passing you were celebrating life’s success and madly in love. I understand that you were so acutely intoxicated that you may not have understood the consequences of your actions.
“As a result, I have had to learn the lessons you left me. Life is short. Love with no shortage. Spend my time wisely. Oddly you have given me confidence to pursue my fears and spend my time appreciating every precious moment and encounter.
“I know I will see you again one day, if not in this life then the next. I will always love you Sam. Love, Your sister.”
May you rest in peace Sam.
