Low-cost airline AirAsia plans to open a fast food restaurant based on its in-flight meals.

The airline Group CEO Tony Fernandes recently revealed the plan in an interview with popular US talk show host Larry King.

YouTube video

“I think our food is fantastic. We believe in it so much we’re going to start a fast-food restaurant out of it. It’s called Santan,” Tony Fernandes said on “Larry King Now”.

For those who many not know, Santan is the name of AirAsia’s in-flight menu, which is being marketed as a “gourmet in-flight dining experience”.

The menu’s most famous dish is Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak, which is the flight’s best-seller dish in 2018.

For now, no date or location for the restaurant have been confirmed, but we’re pretty sure that a lot of people will be excited for the restaurant! Stay tuned~
