Jason Momoa looks every bit as intimidating as his macho superhero Arthur Curry aka Aquaman.
However, during a recent interview with Mirror UK, the hunky actor revealed that his heart has always been as big as his biceps. The time spent filming “Aquaman” on set saw him shedding a couple of tears.
“I’m the biggest drama queen on the set. I was constantly crying,” the hunky actor shared. before adding that his single mother has been instrumental in shaping him into the emotional human being that he is today. “I’m not going to normally get hired to play those emotional things – and I’m capable of it,” Momoa added. “I’m just trapped in a big, dumb body!”
Yes, the DC superhero star may have allowed his emotions to get the better of him, but the physical pain also reduced him to tears. Momoa was required to hang from cables or dangle on wires while “swimming” through air since most of the scenes happen underwater. “I weigh 240lbs, I can’t feel my nuts! You have got to let me down! Take this damn thing off me!” the muscleman recalled ranting to the crew.
In speaking with RTE, the 39-year-old actor also disclosed “X-Men” star Michael Fassbender offered some helpful advice when he was taking on Aquaman’s solo adventure. “He really told me to put in moments of me and find those moments that you can put you in the film so that it can shine through,” Momoa told the publication.
“(Fassbender) was a big influence for me and I was doing that a lot in Aquaman,” Momoa concluded. “So thanks, buddy!”
“Aquaman” swims into cinemas this week.
