Chinese-singing Malaysian pop star Shila Amzah (茜拉) will be representing Malaysia at the prestigious Asian Music Festival 2018 (亚洲音乐盛典) at Shenzhen Bay Sports Center in China.
The event will be held on 29th November 2018 featuring artists from over 20 countries and regions including Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.
The festival aims to provide a global platform for up and coming artists and international performers to showcase their talents as well as to promote international cultural exchanges between the countries.
Some of the other performers at the event include Hong Kong singer and actress Joey Yung, Russian singer Vitas, Thailand’s pop star Jannine Weigel, Chinese singer-songwriter Silence Wang, Taiwanese crooner Jiro Wang, Singaporean singer A-do, Korean star Kim Yong-guk, China girl group SevenSense, and more.
Shila is set to perform one of her latest songs “Love Planet” (涂爱星球) from her new EP at the event and she will also receive an award for Most Popular International Female Singer during the ceremony.
“I’m so blessed to be loved by all of my fans here in Shengzhen, and I’m certainly very proud as a Malaysian to be receiving the award for the Most Popular International Female Singer this year,” the 28-year-old said in a statement.
“I hope that I’ll be able to produce more songs in different languages and reach out to many more fans throughout the world!” she added.
