You may remember Teddy Geiger for the 2006 hit “For You I Will”. A lot has changed since then.
For starters, Geiger came out as a trans woman last year and has made a name for herself as an establish songwriter in the music industry. Some of the famous A-list artists include Shawn Mendes, Christina Aguilera, Maroon 5, 5 Seconds of Summer, Anne-Marie, DNCE, and more.
But now, Geiger is stepping back into the spotlight with a brand new single, “I Was In A Cult”. Instead of the typical radio-friendly anthems that she’s used to producing for other pop stars, this singer-songwriter is rebranding herself as edgy alt-rock queen. “I Was In A Cult” was recently released under the pseudonym “teddy<3”.
In a statement, Ms Geiger shared that her new tune doesn’t address any specific “cult,” but rather “acting from a place of freedom”. “Whether it’s family, friends, work place, partner, country, etc., these little systems of thought/belief can sneak in and it’s easy to lose ourselves in the whole,” she wrote.
