Is this the end of B1A4?
It has been confirmed that Jinyoung and Baro did not renew their contracts with WM Entertainment, thus effectively leaving after their contracts end today (30th June). The other 3 members of B1A4 – Sandeul, CNU, and Gongchan – will be renewing their contracts.
Their contracts were supposed to end in April, but they opted for a 2-month extension to continue discussions. Jinyoung and Baro’s decisions to quit the company was made after lengthy discussions with WM Entertainment.
The company’s official statement reads:
“We respect Jinyoung and Baro’s choices to walk their own paths in order to pursue their dreams. Regarding their decisions to start anew on their own, we also sincerely support their new beginnings. We will focus our energy on restructuring B1A4. We will thoroughly discuss the direction of future activities with the members and make a decision. Moving forward, we will wholeheartedly give all of our support and do our best for CNU’s, Sandeul’s, and Gongchan’s advancement. We will do even better for all the fans who love and support B1A4 unconditionally as well.
We want to sincerely apologize to the fans for worrying you all. We ask that you continue to warmly love them as always and give your blessings to these B1A4 members who are standing in front of a new starting line.”
Jinyoung and Baro have also reportedly receive calls from other agencies, who are interested in signing them.
While B1A4 is expected to continue on as a group, it is unsure if Jinyoung and Baro will be joining them. The group could go on as 3 members, or they could opt to promote as 5 if inter-company discussions are successful.
