JYP Entertainment has announced that it will be introducing its first Chinese boy band which consists of members between 11 to 14 years old.
Known as Boy Story, the boy band is formed from a collaboration between JYP China and Tencent Music Entertainment, and the agency aimed to have the group debut in September.
There are six members in the group; Han Yu (14), Zi Hao (13), Ze Yu (13), Xin Long (13), Ming Rui (12), and Shu Yang (11), and they have already released three pre-debut singles including “How Old R U”, “Can’t Stop”, and “Jump Up”.
The last pre-debut single “Handz Up” is slated for a release on 12th June.
“Boy Story, which has been training for about two years, aims to become a ‘real’ idol that stands out from other Chinese idols. It has already shown its abilities and the group’s color through the pre-debut singles, and we expect the act to receive a more positive reaction from Chinese fans. We are also planning a large scale showcase tour to herald its start,” JYP China said in a statement.
JYP Entertainment is one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea, which produced plenty of famous K-pop idols including Park Ji-yoon, Rain, Jay Park, Wonder Girls, 2AM, 2PM, Miss A, Suzy, Got7 and more.
