If you enjoyed this year’s unexpected smash, “A Quiet Place”, then you’ll like what we’re about to share.
The modern horror thriller has already been given the green light to proceed with a sequel even though the movie just came out a few weeks ago. This is certainly a welcome news for those who fell in love with the near-silent take on the genre.
Directed by John Krasinski, who starred opposite his real-life wife Emily Blunt together with Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds, “A Quiet Place” centres on a family of 4 who must stay silent to avoid being attacked by creatures sensitive to noise.
“We’re already working with these guys on a sequel,” said Paramount Pictures CEO Jim Gianopulos. “If you told me 5 years ago that an almost silent film starring the very funny guy Jim from ‘The Office’ would have been a hit at Paramount, I would have said, ‘Well, I should go work at Paramount’.”
“A Quiet Place” co-screenwriters Bryan Woods and Scott Beck have previously said that there’s plenty left to explore in its world. “There are so many discarded set pieces, too, just hiding out on Word documents on our computer. So, yeah, there are certainly so many stories you could tell. It’s just really, at the end of the day, who are the characters in this and what does this situation mean to that dynamic?” Beck shared.
No release date has been set. What do y’all think though? Would you prefer “A Quiet Place 2” to be a prequel or sequel? Maybe a combination of both?
