This is a sad day for Harmonizers. Fifth Harmony is officially taking an indefinite hiatus.
Dinah Jane, Normani Kordei, Ally Brooke and Lauren Jauregui, collectively posted a statement on the group’s social media accounts to announced their decision. The reason for the break is so that the quartet can focus on their individual careers.

“Reflecting on the past six years since we started on ‘X-Factor’, we’ve realised just how far we’ve come and we appreciate everything so much, more now than ever. We’ve really had one hell of a memorable journey together and can’t begin to express our gratitude to y’all for coming along with us on this wild ride!” the group wrote.
The note continued, “After six years going hard, non-stop, we also realised that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and to you, we do need to take some time for now to go on a hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue solo endeavours.”

The foursome added, “We are all very excited and grateful to be able to take this time to learn and grow creatively and really find our footing as individuals. In doing this we are allowing ourselves to gain new experiences, strengths and perspectives that we can bring back to our Fifth Harmony family.”
The fans were also not forgotten. “To our Harmonizers, thank you for everything we have been able to build as Fifty Harmony. With your love and encouragement we will continue to build on ourselves, support one another in everything we do, and keep making you proud, each other proud and ourselves proud,” they said.
Not long after the announcement, many fans around the world were clearly devastated. One of them was British crooner Sam Smith. The Grammy winner, who met Fifth Harmony during James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke”, tweeted a resounding “NO!” – with 20 exclamation points.

If you’ve been following the Fifth Harmony group members, this “break” isn’t a total blind side. The girls have been keeping busy with various collaborations as a way to ease into their hiatus. Lauren Jauregui recently released “All Night” with Steve Aoki in January. She was also featured in one of Halsey’s songs titled, “Strangers”.
Aside from making it to the “Dancing With the Stars” finale, Normani has also collaborated with R&B singer Khalid on “Love Lies”, taken from the “Love, Simon” soundtrack. Similarly, Dinah Jane appeared on RedOne’s song “Boom Boom” along with Daddy Yankee and French Montana. Ally Brooke also dropped “Perfect” with Topic earlier this year.
