New network, new judges, and new talent: Are y’all ready to welcome back “American Idol”?
Last year it was announced that superstars Katy Perry, Lionel Ritchie, and Luke Bryan take on the role as judges on genre-defining music reality series. In addition, Emmy award-winning host and producer Ryan Seacrest will return to carry out duties as host.

“We are so excited to finally introduce America to the new ‘American Idol’. Our top priority in bringing the series back to the airwaves has been to maintain and showcase the heart and soul that has captured audiences since the franchise’s inception, while sprinkling in some Disney magic like no other company can along the way,” said ABC’s head of alternative programming, Rob Mills.
He adds that Perry, Richie and Bryan are a “dream panel” of judges and “their connection was instant and they each bring a wealth of knowledge and unique judging style to the competition.”
For those living in Asia, “American Idol” will debut on Sony Channel (unifi TV CH 614) next Monday (12th March). The reality-singing competition airs every Monday and Tuesday at 6pm, with same night encore at 9:45pm.
