Behold KL-ites, a futuristic iconic attraction is set to debut in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and it’s call the M101 Skywheel.
Design by Studio F.A. Porsche, M101 Skywheel will put Malaysia on the map as the first to feature the world’s tallest 60-metres span Ferris’ wheel. It will sit between two high-level buildings, giving an unobscured view of the Kuala Lumpur City skyline like no other.

The new sky-scrapper will follow in the footsteps of our very own Wall Street building. aka Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), KLCC and KL Tower. By the looks of it, M101 Skywheel will bare some resemblance to the London Eye and Singapore Flyer. In addition to the Skywheel that will sit atop the 53rd floor, M101 Skywheel will also include other record-breaking features.
According to their official website, M101 Skywheel will be:
- 1st in the world a Sky Ferris Wheel 200 metres above ground
- 1st Luxurious Sky Mall (from the 48th to the 52nd floor)
- 1st in Asia to feature Planet Hollywood Hotel
- 78 storey freehold mixed development that connects to a basement MRT
“M101 is championing property tourism as our core business strategy. Instead of building just another integrated development, we are building a branded development that fits the market’s needs, and further elevate Malaysia’s tourism industry,” M101 Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Seth Yap was quoted as saying.
As per Property Guru, M101 Skywheel is located adjacent to Setia Sky Residences, along Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz. Some of the most iconic landmarks nearby include the National Library, the National Art Gallery, the National Blood Centre, the National Heart Institution (IJN), and more.

There are varying claims that say that the upcoming sky-scraper will launch in 2020, which will be converged with the MRT station in 2022. However, The Star reported that M101 Skywheel is only headed for completion by 2021.
