Oh no! Ed Sheeran was rushed to the hospital after being hit by a car while cycling through the streets of London. Thankfully, he’s now in a stable condition but the singer suffered a broken arm.
Late last night (Monday, 16th October), the 26-year-old singer-songwriter updated his 15.7 million followers on Instagram on his current condition. The post was accompanied with an image of his injured right arm and a sling.
“I’ve had a bit of a bicycle accident and I’m currently waiting on some medical advice, which may affect some of my upcoming shows. Please stay tuned for further news,” the Grammy winner wrote. Daily Mail reported that the incident took place on Sunday (15th October).
As some of you may know, Sheeran is due to bring his “Divide” tour to Asia over the next few weeks. He is scheduled to perform at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Hall in Taiwan this Sunday (22nd October). There’s no doubt that his recent injury will have some implications on his Asian concert dates.
Besides Taiwan, the international pop star is also scheduled to perform in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore. Fans in Malaysia and Thailand are also expecting to see him live during mid-November. No word yet if those dates will be cancelled or postponed but we’re hoping for the latter.
Regardless, Sheeran’s health comes first. Hopefully, he’ll have a speedy recovery.
