Yikes! A 22-year-old man was robbed, beaten, and extorted when he was at an apartment along Jalan Seri Taming on Sunday (20th August) to meet a woman he met on WeChat for sex.
When he arrived at the apartment, the victim said that the woman asked him to take a shower and left the room. Shortly after that, around 5 or 6 men rushed into the room, accused him of rape, and stripped him off his clothes.
According to Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussoff, the group tried to extort about RM40,000 from the victim. He said, “The suspects recorded the naked victim and threatened to spread the video if the money was not paid. His belongings were also stolen, with losses estimated at about RM8,000.”
Dzaffir added that the police was notified by the victim’s friend, who received a video and picture of the victim on WeChat. The friend later told the police that the victim had been released without any ransom being paid. It was also reported that the victim was punched, slapped, kicked, and beaten with a stick.
The Kajang police arrested 5 suspects (4 men and 1 woman) in the Bandar Kinrara area early Monday (21st August). “2 of the suspects tested positive for drugs and none had previous records,” said Dzaffir.
The case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code for causing hurt while committing a robbery.
