Oh no! A massive fire broke out at a motorcycle store in Taman Kasturi, Cheras.
Apparently, the shop was engulfed in flames, setting off a chain reaction of vehicle explosions. “The motorbikes at the shop then started to explode one by one,” P. Shankar, an editorial artist at Star Media Group.
Shankar, who witnessed the incident when he was having lunch with his wife nearby, told The Star that people were forced to evacuate and many who parked their cars and motorbikes nearby also rushed to move their vehicles. He shared, “There was a tuition centre above the motorcycle shop with lots of young kids, about 3 or 4 years old.”
According to Shankar, no one was hurt from the fire. “From what I gathered, everyone managed to get out in time. Nobody was hurt,” he explained.
Furthermore, the witness said that he saw and heard a few explosions, adding that he could feel the heat of the flames from 50m away. When he left the area at around 1:10pm, he saw 2 fire trucks rushing to the scene.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, but we’ll update this post as soon as we have ’em.
