Oh dear, a Mercedes-Benz rammed into a police car recently and the dashcam video of the incident has gone viral.
The unfortunate event reportedly took place at Jalan Loke Yew, Kuala Lumpur at 3:30pm on Friday (21st July). According to Info Roadblock JPJ/Polis’ Facebook page, 2 police officers (aged 30 and 45) sustained injuries when their car was hit by the luxury vehicle.
City Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department Legal Affairs officer Deputy Superintendent Shafie Daud said that the victims, who serve in the Dang Wangi district, were sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment. “The 30-year-old cop fractured his left hand and is still being treated at the hospital, while the 45-year-old driver sustained bruises to his right leg and right arm,” Shafie told NST.
The 35-second video shows the police car stopping due to traffic. Then, the black Mercedes-Benz, which is driven by a 47-year-old man, is seen crashing into the stationary patrol car. As at time of writing, the post has been viewed over 799,000 times.

Many netizens are saying that the driver was not aware of the traffic because he was playing his phone. A Facebook user wrote, “This must be a case of using the phone while driving. I have experienced this 3 times already.”
