Welcome to the jungle, peeps. It’s going to bring you down.
After much anticipation, Sony has finally released the first trailer for “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan, the upcoming film is the follow-up to the 1995 “Jumanji” starring the late Robin Williams.
Instead of being sucked into a board game, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” turns the iconic adventure game into a video game.
The trailer follows 4 high school kids – Spencer (played by Alex Wolff), Fridge (played by Ser’Darius Blain), Bethany (played by Madison Iseman), and Martha (played by Morgan Turner) – as they discover an old video game in a storage room. After choosing their avatars, the group find themselves in the world of Jumanji, taking on the looks of the characters they chose.
“We always talk about (Welcome to the Jungle) as another Jumanji adventure. It is very much the spirit of Jumanji, but with a different group of people and sort of a different idea. But the idea of the game that comes to life is the DNA there,” said producer Matt Tolmach.
Slated for release on 22nd December, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” also stars Nick Jonas and Bobby Cannavale.
