Ever wondered why Tom Riddle became Lord Voldemort? Well, wonder no more because a group of fans will be releasing a Voldemort origins movie.
The fan-made film, titled “Voldemort: Origins of the Heir”, was produced by an independent film-making production company called Tryangle Films. According to their website, the project is a high-production, non-profit fan film inspired by the “Harry Potter” universe.
The idea for “Voldemort: Origins of the Heir” was born after the filmmakers re-read “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince”. The synopsis is as follows:
“What made Tom Riddle become Voldemort? What happened in those years, and what really went down at Hogwarts when he came back? There are some clues in the books which have not been transposed at all in the movies, but a lot goes unspoken. This is the story we want to tell: the rise of the Dark Lord before Harry Potter and his first demise.”
The trailer (above) follows Grisha Mac Laggen (played by Aurora Moroni), the heir of Gryffindor who suspects that Tom Riddle (played by Stefano Rossi) has something to do with the death of Hepzibah Smith (played by Gelsomina Bassetti), a descendant of the Hufflepuff family.
“1943 – the year of the scandal. House-elf murders her own mistress. Hepzibah Smith, descendant of the ancient Hufflepuff family. Death by poisoning, cold case. And yet, I’m still smelling dark magic here. I promise, Tom. I, Grisha Mac Laggen, heir of Gryffindor, will stop you,” Grisha narrates in the trailer.
