Following the success of “The Boss Baby”, which was released in March, DreamWorks Animation has announced that a sequel is in the works.
And that’s not all, The Hollywood Reporter noted that “Saturday Night Live” star Alec Baldwin will reprise his role as the titular baby!
Loosely based on Marla Frazee’s award-winning picture book of the same name, “The Boss Baby” is a fantastical family comedy about how a new baby’s arrival impacts a family, told from the point of view of a delightfully unreliable 7-year-old named Tim.
Beside Baldwin, the animated film features a star-studded including Tobey Maguire aka Spiderman, talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, Steve Buscemi, Miles Bakshi, and “Friends” actress Lisa Kudrow.
The Tom McGrath-directed movie has been a sleeper hit at the box office for both DreamWorks and Baldwin. It grossed USD468 million against its USD125 million budget, making it the 6th highest-grossing film of 2017.
While DreamWorks has yet to release casting details, “Boss Baby 2” is set to release on 26th March 2021.
