We finally have more news for the American remake of “Good Doctor”.
American broadcast television network ABC has confirmed that the remake of the popular K-Drama will start airing this September.
On their official Facebook page, a photo teaser was dropped, informing fans that the show will be broadcasted “this fall”. The channel has also confirmed that the American version will air at 10pm EST (10am Malaysian time) every Monday.
The official synopsis is as follows:
“Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore of ‘Bates Motel’ fame), a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, relocates from a quiet country life to join a prestigious hospital’s surgical unit. Alone in the world and unable to personally connect with those around him, Shaun uses his extraordinary medical gifts to save lives and challenge the skepticism of his colleagues.”
Aside from Highmore, the series also stars Antonia Thomas as Dr. Claire Brown, Nicholas Gonzalez as Dr. Neal Melendez, Chuku Modu as Dr. Jared Kalu, Beau Garrett as Jessica Preston, Hill Harper as Dr. Marcus Andrews, and Richard Schiff as Dr. Aaron Glassman.
They have also dropped an official trailer, which shows us the difficult childhood of Shaun Murphy and how much of a genius he is.
Executive produced by David Shore and Hawaii Five-o star Daniel Dae Kim, it will also feature a screenplay by Malaysian-born scriptwriter Adele Lim.
