When she broke into the Malaysian music scene, no one foresaw how big of a hit she would end up as. But she broke all odds and made it to New York and even worked with Usher. Now, she has added another achievement to her bag.
Yuna has been nominated for a BET (Black Entertainment Television) award and has made the country proud as she’s the first Malaysian to do so!
She’s nominated for the BET Centric Award for her track “Crush” with Usher. Yuna and Usher will be up against 5 other nominees, namely Fantasia, Kehlani, Mary J. Blige, Solange, and Syd.
The award was formerly handed out to neo soul and/or traditional R&B artistes, but as of 2013, BET began recognising specific songs and their respective videos. Previous winners of the award include The Weeknd, Beyoncé, Common, and Tamar Braxton.
