We’ve had events for water-type Pokemon and grass-type Pokemon. Now, it’s time for Rock-type Pokemon to shine.
Niantic has announced their Pokémon GO Adventure Week, which will see an increase of Rock-type Pokemon spawn. It will also take less distance for an egg to hatch and Pokeballs will be sold at a discounted price during the event.
The event is to commemorate a total of 15.8 billion kilometres traveled by all Pokemon GO users, which, according to Niantic, means that “we’re on a journey past the edge of the solar system”.
During the event week, rock-type Pokemon such as Omanyte, Kabuto, Omastar, Kabutops, and Aerodactyl will be more commonly found by players. Although not mentioned in Niantic’s official announcement, we assume other rock-type Pokemon like Geodude, Sudowudo, Magcargo, Onix, Rhyhorn, Shuckle, Corsola, and Larvitar will also be spawned more frequently.
Aside from that, more items will be awarded for every PokeStop visit and Pokeballs will be 50% cheaper at the in-game shop.
However, the most rewarding aspect of the event will perhaps be this feature – your Buddy Pokemon will now be able to find Candies 4 times faster than usual! This means that instead of the usual 1, 3, and 5km, your Buddies will only need to walk 0.25, 0.75, and 1.25km respectively to gain one Candy.
Running from 4am on Friday (19th May) to 4am on 26th May (Friday), those who open the app during the event will also be given a free wardrobe item – the Explorer’s Hat.
