“The Dark side, and the Light. Choose Your Side. Run. It is your Destiny.”

Star Wars fans, y’all are gonna be in for a treat next month! For the first time ever, a Star Wars-themed run is going to Singapore.

Organised by endurance sports management Esprimo Pte. Ltd., #StarWarsRunSG is slated to be held on 6th May 2017 (Saturday) at The Meadow, Gardens by the Bay. The run will feature 2 events: a 4.5km non-competitive run and a 10km competitive run.

For the 4.5km non-competitive run, participants can choose to run on either the Dark Side thematic route or on the Light Side. Both sides come with an exclusive run pack which includes a Darth Vader plushie for the Dark Side participants and a Yoda plushie for the Light Side participants. Upon completion, participants will also be given a medal unique to each “side”.

The 10km competitive run, on the other hand, will pass through a section of the Dark Side. Both routes will have “engagement zones” filled with light projections, music and photo opportunities with “Star Wars-themed surprises”.

Pyrotechnics, as well as Star Wars characters Chewbacca and Kylo Ren, will flag off both runs. And if that’s not enough, #StarWarsRunSG will also feature a “race village” complete with Star Wars-themed food and activities, as well as an outdoor movie screening of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.

What better way to belatedly celebrate Star Wars Day aka May the 4th, eh. Want in? The 4.5km non-competitive run costs S$85 per participant and 10km competitive run costs S$80. Registration closes on 17th April 2017 so you best hurry!
