“Annabelle: Creation” is a follow-up to John R. Leonetti’s “Annabelle” (2014), which grossed over USD257 million worldwide on a USD6.5 million budget. It was also the 14th highest-grossing horror/supernatural film in the US and Canada.
The upcoming film follows a dollmaker and his wife who, 20 years after the tragic death of their little girl, welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home. Very soon, however, they become the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.
The “The Conjuring” spin-off stars Stephanie Sigman (from “Spectre”) as Sister Charlotte, Talitha Bateman (from “The 5th Wave”) as Janice, Anthony LaPaglia as Samuel Mullins, Philippa Coulthard (from “After the Dark”) as Nancy, and Miranda Otto (from “The Lord of the Rings”) as Lizzie Charlotte, among others.
The screenplay is written by Gary Dauberman, who also wrote the first film, with Toby Emmerich, Richard Brener, Walter Hamada, Dave Neustadter, and Hans Ritter attached to produce.
“Annabelle: Creation” is slated to haunt cinemas on 11th August 2017.
