We know what you’re thinking: “What? Another K-Pop idol survival program? How many do they need?”
Yup, you read the title right. Mnet is going to air a new girl group project show called “Idol School” (아이돌학교) sometime in July this year.
An insider said, “Detailed plans are already finished. It’s being anticipated for the 2nd half of 2017, so the staff are working hard in preparation.”
According to Soompi, interested participants can submit their applications via “Idol School”‘s website starting 28th March. Moreover, successful applicants will have to participate in a 11-week training. A final exam will be given to the “students” prior to their “graduation”. Those with the highest scores will make their debut in a new girl group.
Soompi also noted that the program will prioritise potential rather than skills and experience, adding that “students” will have take crash courses and personalised classes to improve as quickly as possible.

Mnet is known for producing various trainee survival programs and TV talent shows such as JYP Entertainment’s “Sixteen”, “Produce 101”, BOYS24, and YG Entertainment’s “Win: Who Is Next”. So we really don’t know what to feel about another idol-making show.
