Blackjack, rejoice! There’s finally some news about Minzy’s (공민지) solo debut.
It was reported that Jay Park has participated in the former 2NE1 member’s album. Last June, she hinted fans about the collaboration with an Instagram photo of herself and the Korean-American artiste. In her caption, she wrote, “Turn up with my bro.”
Numerous insiders are saying that the idol’s upcoming album is slated for a release date sometime in April or May. However, Music Works, Minzy’s label, stated that nothing has been confirmed yet.
“Minzy has been working on her solo album since last year and it is true that has worked with Jay Park. We haven’t decided on a title track yet so we cannot reveal details regarding the release date,” they said.
23-year-old Minzy debuted through YG Entertainment’s 2NE1 in 2009 with “Fire” and the group quickly became one of the most popular female idol groups in K-Pop. On 5th April, she left the group and YG Entertainment to pursue a solo career.
The idol is currently a member of KBS’ “Unnies’ Slam Dunk Season 2” alongside IOI’s Jeon Somi, Kim Sook, Hong Jin Kyung, Kim Joo Hee, actress Han Chae Young, and Hong Jin Young. Besides that, she will also be releasing an OST for new K-drama, “Rebel: Thief Who Stole The People”.
