Lana Del Rey is back and she has a love letter for all her fans in a form of a brand new song.
Originally titled “Young and In Love”, the 31-year-old singer’s latest music offering has been simplified to just, “Love”. The beautiful tune exudes everything we love about Del Rey – retro, dreamy, and blissfulness.
Some may interpret Del Rey’s lyrics as political in nature, but really, “Love” is all about a celebration of self-care as one tries to figure out the answers to life’s trials.
“Look at you kids with your vintage music, comin’ through satellites while cruisin,” she sings about the restlessness of young adulthood, before continuing, “You’re part of the past but now you’re the future, signals crossing can get confusing.”
Yes, life can be hard. The key is knowing that you’ll get through it by pushing forward and embracing the present moment. “You get ready, you get all dressed up/ To go nowhere in particular/ Doesn’t matter cause it’s enough to be young and in love,” she croons.
If this song is any indication, her upcoming album is going to be spectacular. “I made my first four albums for me, but this one is for my fans and about where I hope we are all headed,” Del Rey was quoted as saying.
