There has been many mother-daughter films and TV shows over the years (most notably “Freaky Friday”, “Gilmore Girls”, and “Terms of Endearment”), but none as badass and action-packed as 20th Century Fox’s new Mother’s Day comedy, “Snatched”.
Starring Amy Schumer and veteran actress Goldie Hawn, the upcoming flick is helmed by Jonathan Levine (of “Warm Bodies” fame) with a script penned by “The Heat” writer Katie Dippold.
The film also marks Hawn’s first movie in 14 years. In speaking with ET Online, Hawn said, “It had to be funny and it had to be with the right person. I did a lot of stuff, but if it can’t live up to the expectation, it’s not worth doing.”
“We are on quite a romp together, the two of us — in the jungle! It’s just going to be a blast! So that’s what brought me back,” she added.
The plot is as follows:
“After her boyfriend dumps her on the eve of their exotic vacation, impetuous dreamer Emily Middleton (played by Amy Schumer) persuades her ultra-cautious mother, Linda (played by Goldie Hawn) to travel with her to paradise. Polar opposites, Emily and Linda realise that working through their differences as mother and daughter – in unpredictable, hilarious fashion – is the only way to escape the wildly outrageous jungle adventure they have fallen into.”
As expected, the new trailer features sweet mother-daughter moments, some action, and a ton of classic Amy Schumer humour.
