Brace yourselves Katycats, Katy Perry will be releasing new music this week.
Perhaps she’s prepping up to release her comeback single since last year’s inspirational Olympics anthem, “Rise”. Earlier this morning (8th February, Wednesday), the 32-year-old pop star posted a short clip on Instagram, together with the caption, “Why are we all so chained #Fridaythe10th“.
In the teaser, Perry can be seen walking in silver stilettos with a disco ball chained to her ankle. It’s also the first time she has shared the audio of this new track. The reggae/dance intro isn’t much to go on, but at least it’ll wet the appetites of her fans.
According to Billboard, the aforementioned song is titled “Chained to the Rhythm” and will reportedly feature Bob Marley’s grandson, Skip Marley. Apparently, the producers for this track are Mike Will Made It, Max Martin, Sia, and Savan Kotecha.

Moments earlier, the singer uploaded a video showing a promo photo of her going up on a billboard. The words, 10th February, is written across it. Fans are speculating that this clue indicates that the single, “Chained to the Rhythm”, may arrive in 2 days time.
Earlier this week, Perry hinted at her comeback by posting that same photo on her Facebook, as well as Twitter and Instagram accounts. The photo features Perry substituting her dark hair for bright blonde locks and wearing a light pink furred dress.
It has already been confirmed that Perry will be performing at the 2017 Grammy Awards. Would you like to see her belt out “Chained to the Rhythm”?
