In December 2016, it was first revealed that Grammy nominee Gallant, Epik High frontman Tablo, and Korean-American singer Eric Nam will be working together for a 3-way collaboration. Since then, they’ve done a photo shoot together and drop numerous teasers on their social media teasing the track.
After a wait of around 2 months, their long-awaited track, “Cave Me In” is finally here. The track was released on music sites such as Spotify and iTunes, and the music video was also made public on YouTube today (27th January).
The trio showed their chemistry in the track and Gallant also spoke fondly of the other artistes. “When we all met for the 1st time, our energy just clicked and that energy manifested itself into ‘Cave Me In’,” said the “Weight In Gold” singer.
“Feelin’ blessed to be a part of this beautiful song. With my verse, I wanted to talk about the inherent double-bladed nature of love. As the title of the song implies, love is often simultaneously gentle and violent. Hope it hits close to home for ya,” Tablo said of the track.
Eric Nam was also extremely thankful for the chance, and expressed, “Had a good time working with some great friends on a song that touches on the complicated nature of love. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as we enjoyed putting this together.”
Described as a “throwback jam” reminiscence of the R&B groups of the ’90s, each artiste contributed to the lyrics of their own verse. They take turns singing about the pains of love, and we hear Gallant taking on the opening verse, followed by Tablo’s fiery rap and Eric Nam’s sexy vocals.
The music video was shot in Hong Kong and it’s a simple one with minimal story line. Gallant, Tablo, and Eric Nam can be seen walking along the streets while passionately performing their lines. At certain intervals, we see a glimpse of a woman, presumably the love interest of the singers.

This is not the first time that Eric Nam and Gallant are working together, as the duo was last seen killing the stage during 2016’s Mnet Asian Music Award (MAMA). It was also there that Gallant was introduced to Tablo.
If you liked the song, you can stream it on Spotify and iTunes.
