HBO Asia is set to bring the complete Oscars experience direct from Hollywood, across multiple screens on TV and connected mobile devices, in addition to red carpet exclusives and backstage interviews on the networkâs website and social platforms.

This Thursday (14th January), starting with the live nominee announcement of the 88th Annual Academy Awards, Guillermo del Toro, John Krasinski, and Ang Lee, together with Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs, will announce the nominations of all 24 Oscar categories at a special 2-part live news conference in Beverly Hills.
Del Toro and Lee will announce the nominees in the following categories: Animated Feature Film, Cinematography, Costume Design, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Makeup and Hairstyling, Original Song, Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, Sound Editing, and Sound Mixing.
Krasinski and Boone Isaacs will take the stage to unveil the nominations for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Directing, Film Editing, Foreign Language Film, Original Score, Best Picture, Production Design, Visual Effects, Adapted Screenplay, and Original Screenplay.
The 88th Annual Academy Awards will be broadcast live exclusively on HBO this 19th February at 9:30am, with a same night primetime encore at 8pm. The awards show will also be streamed live on Astro On The Go.
Hosted by Chris Rock, who previously hosted the awards show in 2005, the 88th Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood and Highland Center in Hollywood.

And that’s not all.
For the week leading up to the awards, HBO will honour past winners with a recap of 2015 Oscar-winning movies, airing every night at 9pm. The full schedule is as follows:
The Oscars’ live nominees announcement will be broadcast live on HBO / HBO HD (Astro Ch 411 / 431) at 9:30pm on 14th January while the awards will be broadcast live exclusively via HBO on 29th February at 9:30am, with a same night primetime encore at 8pm.
