Hot on the heels of announcing that Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) New York is not returning for 2017, Pasquelle Rotella, CEO of Insomniac Events, took to his Facebook page drop another surprise that Asian fans will love.
Ready or not, EDC Japan 2017 has been green-lit!
For those of you who are not in the know (thought we highly doubt it if you’re a dance music fan), helmed by Insomniac Events, EDC is one of the biggest electronic dance music festivals in the world, with its flagship held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since its inception, the festival has bloomed in cities across the US (California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Puerto Rico) as well as abroad, including Mexico, the UK, Brazil, and India.
And now, Japan.
In answering the call of Asian dance music fans, EDC Japan 2017 will be heading to Tokyo next spring. Previously, Pasquelle hinted that Insomniac Events had already got a venue picked out and that the circuitGROUNDS stage will actually be “right on the beach“. It is now confirmed that the 2-day event will be held at beach-side venue ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Beach Park.
In the official announcement video, Insomniac Events said, “Now, we’re planting the seeds on a whole new continent. Insomniac and GMO are proud to present the debut of Electric Daisy Carnival Japan! It’s a new adventure, a new country and a new beginning, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store as we embark on this journey together. Join us for a weekend of art and the world’s best electronic dance music.”
