Heads up, KL peeps!
58 roads in the city centre will be closed tomorrow (Saturday, 19th November) from 7am onwards until further notice. According to KL police chief Datuk Amar Singh, the move is to prevent clashes between the various groups (eg. Red Shirts, White Shirts, and Black Shirts) that are expected to assemble for the Bersih 5 rally.
“Given that 4 groups are set to gather at the same time and place, with different understandings, there is a high possibility that there will be altercations if they meet. Police have advised all groups not to conduct the rallies but they still want to continue,” he said.
The affected areas include:
- Dataran Maybank Bangsar
- Little India, Brickfields
- Masjid Negara
- Muzium Negara
- Sogo
- Dataran Merdeka
- Parliament
- Bank Negara
- Jalan Pudu
- PWTC
- Chow Kit
Stay safe and remember to plan your routes well before going out, guys!
