You guys, Japanese comedian Pikotaro will be visiting Singapore next week 🙂
Famed for his viral skit, “PPAP”, Pikotaro (real name Daimaou Kosaka) is going to be a special guest at the Anime Festival Asia (AFA), which will take place at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre from 25th – 27th November.
At press time, Pikotaro’s viral video has gained over 85 million views on YouTube and the super addictive 45-second tune has became the shortest single to enter Billboard Hot 100, a feat that was recognised by the Guinness World Records.
Though “PPAP”, which was written by Pikotaro himself, gained a decent amount of popularity among Japanese students in the first month of its release, it wasn’t until “Love Yourself” singer Justin Bieber shared the video on Twitter that it went viral. Dubbed as the new “Gangnam Style”, the video brought about many parodies and hilarious covers.
Besides Pikotaro, other AFA special guests includes IKETERU HEARTS, PianoMinion, Real Akiba Boyz (RAB), Aki, Daiki Yamashita, and Rika as well as celebrity cosplayers such as Baozi & Hana, Kaname, Enako, and Reika.
