On 25th October, the producers of “Running Man” (런닝맨) have confirmed that Kang Gary (개리) will be leaving the popular variety show to focus on his music career.
The Leessang rapper has been a regular cast on the show since 2010 and is known for his humorous character and as Song Ji Hyo’s “Monday Boyfriend” (월요남친).
Gary finally broke his silence today (28th October) on his Instagram. His full letter reads (courtesy of All Kpop):
“Hello, everyone.
This is Kang Gary. First of all, I’m very, very sorry to those who were greatly shocked by the news of my departure. I also want to thank everyone who gave me their attention, love, and advice for 7 years. I will work hard whenever and in whatever I’m doing as to not further disappoint those fans who created such unforgettable, happy moments in my life. Also, I’m feeling encouraged because of those who have been supporting me in my decision!!
Again, I aplogise and thank you. Lastly, please love ‘Running Man’ and its members, who work hard to make everyone happy! I love you!”
