Royal Treasures, we’ve got news that will excite you!
Mark 6th November down on your calendar because your favourite Korean-American rock band will be returning to Malaysia for a meet the fans session! It’s their 2nd time in Malaysia, and their fan meet session will be graced by the top 10 contestants of Astro Star Quest 2016 (新秀大赛).
The rock band was formed in 2004 with 4 members, and was named Fading From Dawn. Unfortunately, bassist Richard Kim passed away in a car accident in 2008. After changing their band name to Royal Pirates, they started uploading music covers on YouTube.
They were an independent music band but made their official Korean debut on 25th August 2013 on SBS’ music show, Inkigayo. So far, they’ve released 4 EPs and 1 single, and their albums have been peppered with songs in English, Japanese, and Korean. This appeals them to a wide range of audience and the band also performed as guests on actor Lee Min Ho’s “Reboot: Minho Tour”.
Their latest release was around a year ago with their 6-track EP “3.3”, however, bassist James Lee met in an accident prior to their comeback, prompting him to give up the bass for the keyboard.
They’ve also been selected as judges for Astro Star Quest 2016, and will be making frequent appearances on the show.
Royal Pirates made their first visit to the country in May last year, and held not 1, but 2 showcases in Malaysia. They travelled all the way to Sabah for their 1st showcase and 2 days later, met fans in Bentley Music Auditorium in Kuala Lumpur.
Deets for their upcoming fan meet session are as follows:
- Date: 6th November (Sunday)
- Time: 4pm
- Venue: Lower Ground Concourse, Berjaya Times Square
