Jung Joon Young’s sexual assault case has been resolved, but it seems like its the least of his worries.
An alleged sex tape involving the singer and his ex-girlfriend has surfaced online, which caused netizens to go into a frenzy. However, his agency has since stepped up to deny the rumours in a statement dated 7th October.
Jung’s agency, C9 Entertainment, said:
“The man in the video that has been going around is not Jung Joon Young. We didn’t say anything about it because we didn’t think it was worth making a response, but because it continues to be spread, we will be discussing how to deal with it.”
The agency also revealed that they are planning to carry out legal actions against the culprit who was responsible for the fake sex tape. Those who spread malicious rumours and claim that the man in question was Jung will be also charged.
The fiasco involving Jung began in late September, when reports of his ex-girlfriend accusing him of sexual assault surfaced. However, C9 Entertainment responded promptly, clarifying that the charges have been investigated by police and the case has been closed. They also revealed that the female had submitted the charges impulsively after a “small misunderstanding” with the singer.
The Seoul Eastern Prosecutors Office also told reporters that Jung has been acquitted because of inconclusive evidence.
