Klang Valley peeps, if you’re one of those who use the “park and ride” facilities at the new Light Rail Transit (LRT) stations, then we’ve got some news for you.
Starting today (Monday, 15th August), motorists who park their vehicles at the “park and ride” facilities at the LRT stations will be charged RM4 per entry.
According to Prasarana Malaysia Bhd, the parking fee will be imposed at the Ara Damansara, Glenmarie, USJ21, Alam Megah, Subang Alam, and Putra Heights stations.
The “park and ride” facilities were made available free of charge since 30th June when the new stations were opened, as part of initiatives to promote usage of the LRT services. However, the promotion ended yesterday (Sunday, 14th August).

Prasarana Malaysia Bhd’s head of group communications and strategic marketing Lim Jin Aun confirmed the implementation of the “park and ride” fee, but added that parking at motorcycle bays and bicycle racks remain free of charge.
Lim also advised the public to park only at designated lots within the “park and ride” area vehicles that are parked along the side of the road and road shoulders could affect traffic flow and be issued summonses (samans) or risk being towed away by the authorities.
The alternative, Lim said, would be to take the feeder buses as the stations are serviced by them. The full information on the feeder buses is available at the Rapid KL website.
