Are you guys ready for the live-action adaption of “Mouse Guard”?
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Fox enlisted “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” screenwriter Gary Whitta to pen the script for David Petersen’s best-selling comic book series. While Matt Reeves, who directed “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”, will be producing the film through 6th & Idaho productions alongside the comic’s publisher Boom! Studios, he will not be helming the project.
David Petersen’s “Mouse Guard” is set in a world of mice who live in the middle ages, paralleling the same age in human history, though in their world there are no humans. Its stories revolve around a brotherhood of mice known as the “Mouse Guard” who have sworn an oath to serve their fellow civilian mice in times of need, including making safe passage for them through the wilderness and protecting them from predators.
The adorable series has been translated into 10 languages and it has almost 1 million copies in print. Besides the main series, Petersen published 3 volumes of spin-off comics including “Mouse Guard: Legend of the Guard” and “Mouse Guard Roleplaying Game”.
