A baby legend is born!
Congrats to Chrissy Teigen and John Legend! The 30-year-old supermodel and TV host, and 37-year-old musician have welcomed their first child together, a precious baby girl. “She’s here! Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you! And sleepy. Very sleepy,” Teigen captioned her Instagram announcement.
“Our new love is here! Luna Simone Stephens, born on Thursday, the 14th. We couldn’t be happier!” tweeted Legend (whose real last name is Stephens). In Latin, Luna means moon, and is also one of the names of Artemis the moon goddess.
According to Daily Mail, Teigen has previously spoken about her fertility struggles, and used In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) to conceive her child, revealing she chose a female embryo to ensure she and Legend would have a daughter.
“I’ve made this decision…Not only am I having a girl, I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, “Let’s put in the girl.” It excited me to see… just the thought of seeing him with a little girl. I think he deserves a little girl. I think he deserves that bond,” the Lip Sync Battle host told People.
In typical Teigen fashion, the new mum also joked on Twitter, “to everyone asking, John is healing perfectly.” Shortly after, she added, “thank you for all the well wishes!!! We are so happy and excited!”
Congratulations to the happy couple!
UPDATE (23th April, 2pm):
Teigen just took to Instagram to share the very first photo of Luna. She even captioned the sweet snap: “Hi my lulu”.
Aww. Isn’t she precious? And she already has a nickname! We can’t wait to see more pictures of beautiful little “Lulu” :)
