‘Tis the season to be jolly because 20th Century Fox will be debuting not one, not two, but T-H-R-E-E new “Deadpool” trailers in the coming week.
According to Comic Book Movies, the 2nd official trailer for the Ryan Reynolds-starred movie is currently on its way as a “trailer D”, a red band “trailer E”, and an IMAX teaser trailer of “Deadpool” were recently classified by Alberta Film Ratings.
The IMAX teaser trailer is confirmed to be exclusively shown ahead of Disney and Lucasfilm‘s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens“.
It’s initially unclear when the official full-length trailer will be released, but “Deadpool” creator Rob Liefeld revealed on his Instagram that it will be released on Christmas Day (25th December) during The NBA on ESPN. This was confirmed after ABC aired a new promo for the film during SportsCenter.
Apparently, Fox will release both green band and red band trailers and they will be 2-minute-and-45-second long.
Directed by Tim Miller, “Deadpool” is based on a script by “Zombieland” writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
The official plot of the R-rated movie is as follows:
BASED UPON MARVEL COMICS’ MOST UNCONVENTIONAL ANTI-HERO, “DEADPOOL” TELLS THE ORIGIN STORY OF FORMER SPECIAL FORCES OPERATIVE TURNED MERCENARY WADE WILSON, WHO AFTER BEING SUBJECTED TO A ROGUE EXPERIMENT THAT LEAVES HIM WITH ACCELERATED HEALING POWERS, ADOPTS THE ALTER EGO DEADPOOL. Reynolds is starring in it as Wade Wilson/Deadpool while “Gotham” star Morena Baccarin as Vanessa/Copycat. “Fast & Furious 6” star Gina Carano, TJ Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, and “Game of Thrones” star Ed Skrein will play Angel Dust, Deadpool’s sidekick Weasel, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Ajax respectively.
Hugh Jackman may make a cameo as Wolverine, but it remains unconfirmed as to whether or not he will actually appear.
UPDATE (15th December, 11:51am):
Prior to the release of the new “Deadpool” trailer, a new official poster has made its debut via EW online, providing us a cheeky look at Reynolds as the antihero himself. The poster also came with a witty tagline: “Wait ’til you get a load of me”.

In a new video, Reynolds told fans in his Deadpool costume that they’re going to celebrate the “12 Days of Deadpool” with him starting today. Something new about the “Deadpool” movie will be unveiled every day from now onwards until the release of the 2nd official trailer on Christmas Day.
