One half of the Olsen twins is officially off the market.
Page Six reported that Mary-Kate Olsen has officially tied the knot with her longtime French investment banker boyfriend Oliver Sarkozy at a private wedding ceremony last Friday night.
The 29-year-old Mary-Kate began dating the 46-year-old Oliver since 2012. Despite their 17-year age difference, a source told Us Weekly that the former “Full House” alum-turned-fashion designer was “definitely interested in him”.
Though they rarely speak publicly about their relationship, they were spotted packing on the PDA multiple times. Regarding the media attention over their age gap, Mary-Kate told the Wall Street Journal:
Everyone has an opinion. I find it’s better to focus on what’s in front of you and to keep putting one foot in front of the other.
The couple got engaged in February 2014 after Mary-Kate was spotted wearing a giant ring on her ring finger. The ring that Oliver reportedly purchased for Mary-Kate is a 4-carat vintage Cartier diamond ring that costs USD81,250 at a Sotheby’s auction.
According to Page Six, the lovely pair held their intimate wedding ceremony at a privae residence in New York City. Appoximately 50 guests were invited and cocktails were served in a rear garden before they dined indoors. It was followed by a reception at a private residence in Manhattan.
Guests were required to turn in their cellphones beforehand. A source said that party decors include “bowls and bowls filled with cigarettes, and everyone smoked the whole night”.
Mary-Kate’s twin sister Ashley previously gushed about Oliver shortly after the pair began dating, stating that no attention was given to those who questioned the couple’s relationship. A source also told Us Weekly that “Mary-Kate’s family thinks Olivier is the best thing to happen to her”.
This is the first marriage for Mary-Kate and the 2nd marriage for Oliver, who is the half-brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy and a father of 2 from his previous marriage.
Representatives for Mary-Kate and Oliver did not respond to a request for comment at press time, but congratulations to the newly-married couple 🙂
