Say hello to the dark side of the Internet, Adele.
The excitement for Adele‘s latest album is too real that the record was reported to have been leaked online days before its official release.
How did this album get leaked, you ask?
Apparently, a Twitter user claimed that she had purchase the album from American retailer Target and even posted a picture of the singer’s album cover on her page. She even asked people to retweet her post if they want her to leak the album. However, a rep for Adele later told Billboard that the Target sales were not true.
Earlier on Tuesday (17th November) London-based Juno Records has reportedly uploaded 2-minute snippets of all 11 tracks from the album to its website as well. However, the link was quickly taken down by the e-commerce site.
“25” comes almost 5 years after she released “21″, her sophomore album which sold some 30 million copies worldwide and won 7 Grammys.
Titled “19”, her first album was certified 4 times platinum in the UK and double platinum in the US. As for her 2nd album, it was certified 16 times platinum in the UK and the 4th best-selling album in the country. Her albums have earned her 6 Grammy awards, 3 American Music Awards Awards, Brit Awards, Critics’ Choice”.
According to Billboard, the highly anticipated album is expected to be sold as many as 1.8 million units in its first week.
As of now, Adele is promoting “25” in New York aka the city that never sleeps.
What a bummer. We wonder how the singer is coping up with this 🙁
