A$AP Rocky looks at the other side of fame in “Everyday” music video.
A grown-up A$AP Rocky shows his struggles with painkillers, plastic surgery an the passage of time in his new video for “Everyday”, the Rod Stewart-sampling track of his new LP “At.Long.Last.A$AP“. Dubbed a “Hip-Hop Hollywood Story,” the “Everyday” video is cautionary tale about fame and fortune.
Told in flashbacks, the video shows an older, bloated Rocky rollicking around his mansion, with the efforts to keep his youthful looks which results in a series of plastic surgeries stamping a disfigured grin on his face.
Directed by Emmanuel Cossu and Fleur & Manu, the video makes allusions to wealthy pop stars who were similarly withdrawn and isolated in their final years. The video then shows Rocky securing a Las Vegas residency in 2030 before rewinding to years earlier, showing the effects drugs and partying had on him.
The video for “Everyday” premiered on Apple Music and features appearance by Miguel, Mark Ronson and Rod Stewart. Watch it below:
