Bond, James Bond.
Explosions and dark, moody silhouettes highlighted the first teaser for “Spectre“, but the James Bond flick’s official trailer fills in more of the plot. The two minute thirty-three second clip follows James Bond (played by Daniel Craig) as he journeys across the globe, uncovering the existence of the titular nefarious criminal organisation.
The trailer opens with Bond in Mexico City during the Day of the Dead Festival, roaming the streets wearing a skull mask before sniping an enemy from a rooftop. Then in Rome, he strikes up a romance with Lucia Sciarra (played by Monica Bellucci), the widow of a criminal Bond wiped out. Despite intense questioning from M (played by Ralph Fiennes, who will be debuting in the role), the agent uses the trademark gadgetry of Q (played by Ben Whishaw) and resources of Moneypenny (played by Naomie Harris) to track down Madeleine Swanne (played by Léa Seydoux), the daughter of his former nemesis Mr. White − and a key figure in solving the Spectre riddle.
The trailer also sees a chilling connection between Bond and Franz Oberhauser (played by Christoph Waltz). “Spectre” makes for the 24th instalment in the franchise and Craig’s fourth stint as 007. It also marks the title organisation’s first appearance in a Bond film since 1971’s “Diamonds Are Forever”.
Directed by Sam Mendes (of “Skyfall” fame) and co-written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan, “Spectre” will hit worldwide theatres on November 6th.
