Ooops! It looks like Kendrick Lamar’s vibe has just been killed.
Rapper, Kendrick Lamar is being sued for allegedly using a photograph without permission to promote his single “The Blacker the Berry,” off his latest album, “To Pimp A Butterfly.” Freelance photographer Giordano Cipriani names Lamar, Top Dawg Entertainment, Interscope Records and Aftermath Entertainment in the suit.
According to Bossip, Cipriani claims that they used the photo he shot on a 2011 trip to Africa of a mother breastfeeding two children without permission or payment. The image was reportedly used on the rapper’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
According to the lawsuit filed on July 10th in New York Federal Court, Cipriani is requesting $150,000 for each time the image was used, and additional money for lawyer fees. He has demanded an injunction against Lamar to prevent any further unauthorised use of the image.
