Spartans, lace up!
Obstacle racing’s ultimate test of endurance and strength is slated to make its debut in Malaysia this year.
In conjunction with the inaugural National Sports Day, the world’s leading obstacle race and the first of its kind to feature timing and global rankings will be held in Kuala Lumpur. The Reebok Spartan Race will feature races at 3 escalating distances culminating each year in the Reebok Spartan World Championship:
- 5+km/15+ Obstacle Sprint
- 13+km/20+ Obstacle Super
- 20+km/25+ Obstacle Beast
The first ever National Sports Day, to be held on the 2nd Saturday of October every year, is destined to be a hit with the inclusion of a world-class international sporting even like the Reebok Spartan Race.
A whopping total of over 15,000 competitors and spectators from across the country representing every walk of life, age, and varying degrees of athletic abilities are expected to tackle the Spartan Sprint come October, although in Malaysia the sprint will be 6+km/22+ obstacles.
Spartan events are designed to challenge people to overcome short-term desire for comfort in an effort to reach for something greater. Hence, the sprint is an excellent starting point to becoming a Spartan as it is fun for beginners while still giving seasoned races plenty to test themselves against.
