Remember René “The Haitian” from NBC sc-fi TV series “Heroes“? You know, that mysterious guy with the ability to manipulate people’s minds? Since the original series is getting a limited series reboot, Variety confirmed that Jimmy Jean-Louis will return to reprise his role as The Haitian.
Jean-Louis is the 3rd member of the original cast to join “Heroes Reborn” as the network already announced that Jack Coleman and Masi Oka are returning to reprise their respective roles.
As previously mentioned, he starred in the original “Heroes” series as The Haitian, an associate of Coleman’s Noah Bennet. He was recruited to the Company and has aided Bennet in the investigation of evolved humans. He was considered one of the Company’s most valuable resources due to his ability to manipulate people’s minds.
For the first 3 seasons of the series, he was referred to on-screen as “the Haitian” and his real name was only revealed by Claire in the 8th episode of the 4th season.
The 13-episode event series will begin airing this year. NBC kept mum about the plot details of the series, but it is expected to follow a new stand-alone story arc and introduce new characters.
Best known for his nerdy role in the TV series “Chuck”, Zachary Levi was announced to be the leading cast for “Heroes Reborn”. Ryan Guzman, Robbie Kay, Danika Yarosh, Judith Shekoni, Kiki Sukezane, Henry Zebrowski, and Gatlin Green are also joining the series for mysterious roles.
Matt Shakman, who is best known for his work on “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, will direct the opening episode while creator Tim Kring will serve as the executive producer alongside James Middleton and Peter Elkoff.
